A Torch can be lit to create a small amount of light. It can be carried while lit, and produces light around the carrier even while it is not the active item.
Obtaining
A torch can be crafted by placing a Charcoal Lump on top of a Staff.
Usage
A torch can be lit by placing it in the world and pummel it with a Stick, Staff, or another torch, similar to starting a fire by rubbing sticks together. The secondary stick, staff, or torch will be consumed in the process.
A torch can also be lit by placing it next to Fire or another lit torch.
Torches create a very small amount of light, which is inconvenient for exploration. However, torches are a very reliable fire starter, and can be used to set fire to adjacent Charcoal, Planks, or other flammable blocks.
