Lode is the metal found in the world of NodeCore, similar but not equivalent to real-life iron or carbon steel. It exists in various forms in the game: prills, bars, rods, tool heads, cubes, rakes.

Annealed vs. Tempered

Most lode items exist in two forms when cooled: annealed and tempered: annealed lode can be created from hot lode by cooling it slowly, which makes it more soft and malleable, while tempered lode is created by cooling it quickly, and is harder. These traits can have various effects on different items.
