Lode is the metal found in the world of NodeCore, similar but not equivalent to real-life iron or carbon steel. It exists in various forms in the game: prills, bars, rods, tool heads, cubes, rakes, adzes.
Annealed vs. Tempered
Most lode items exist in two forms when cooled: annealed and tempered: annealed lode can be created from hot lode by cooling it slowly, which makes it more soft and malleable, while tempered lode is created by cooling it quickly, and is harder. These traits can have various effects on different items.
Refining and working
Lode is smelted into prills from lode ore. The prills can then be turned into various other items, primarily through forging. Most items need a node usable as an anvil to make.
